Ayahuasca in Peru

I had just finished a two year service in the army, which i entered straight after high school. Totally lost in direction, hating the idea of regular work, CBF with the idea of education. I went back to Australia to try an ignite an old flame. Fighting. The only thing, pretty much i knew how to do. Years and years of abusing my body, my heart and ego.

But life as we know, had other plans. Sometimes we had to learn the hard to what those plans are.

So after a series of unfortunate events, it was time to drop the bucket, quit my job, leave my old life behind and head to the jungle.

Planning for Ayahuasca..

So in Iquitos, Peru. The Ayahuasca industry is massive. Tons of tourists from every inch of the globe, flock down to this small city on the basin of the Amazon River just to encounter the magical plant Ayahuasca in the hopes it will lead them to something more than what this life has to offer. To those who come with an open heart, it gives them exactly that.

When you land in Iquitos, which is a two hour flight from Lima (the capital of Peru), you will notice you fly across untouched jungle, no agriculture, no other towns or cities. Just pure jungle. Very Beautiful.

If you have done your research, you will also know that there are many many big and small retreats in Peru. Now I am not here to tell you why the one I am with is better than any other, but i will tell you why it is fucking awesome. Why you should definitely pay for quality, and also why it is a good idea to experience the intensity of Ayahuasca in a safe comfortable environment.

There are a lot of different people, who think that if you don't go hard core, trekking through the jungle, doing Ayahuasca with a shaman in a hut somewhere in the middle of the amazon. You won't get an authentic Ayahuasca experience.

From my experience, and my belief. That is just complete and utter bullshit.

What you need for a true Aya experience, is a

1. Powerful, good hearted Shaman
2. Your courage.

That is it.

This is also why, you want to have as much comfort and safety in the environment as possible. You do not want to be shitting your guts out, puking uncontrollably or tripping balls in an uncomfortable environmental. It will complete freak you out, ruin your trip and possibly cause you harm.

For example, in the middle of the jungle. If you are deep under the medicine and lets say a snake crawls up your pants. What the fuck will you do?

That's why it is so important to choose a place, with knowledgable westernize people, who can provide that comfort, that safety, so you don't have to worry about that shit and concentrate on yourself.

The other reason why it is better to do research, and plan ahead is because there are many wolves in sheep's clothing in Peru. They will say their uncle is a shaman, and then take you to the middle of the jungle, rob you and leave you there.

That will be an opposite experience. You do not want.

So here is pretty much all you need to know on why you should plan ahead, and pick somewhere recognize and pay for quality as well.

I will place the link to the retreat i will be working for. We provide an authentic experience, we have great shamans, personally i have worked with 5 different ones. We have a great camp, great modern facilities, awesome food. Good activities. Just clean, professional and fucking fun people. So check it out.

Any other questions please feel free to comment or even message me. :)

What is Ayahuasca ?

The Magical Plant Goddess Ayahuasca

The Science and history behind it.

Ayahuasca is a psycho-active brew that has been used in ancient shamanic tribal cultures across South-America for centuries. It contains 3 Main Ingredients, The Ayahuasca Vine, the Chakruna leaf and water. Any other ingredients vary from shaman, to tribe and culture.

It is used to this date for the exact same reason, to heal. It is proven to heal an endless range of mental and emotional illnesses as well as physical.

There is always a Shaman present during the consumption, and during ceremony which lasts for 4-6 hours. They overlook and control the ayahuasca space everyone is in.

In the West Ayahuasca is illegal because the faceless pigs who control the government are aware of it's boundary dissolving powers which is lethal to the structure of Western Civiliasation.

In countries like Peru on the other hand, it PROTECTED by government under laws of Religious Freedom.

The active molecule in it is DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) which is a chemical produced by our own human bodies, and is most present during sleep, in the stage know as REM sleep. Where are dreams are created. There are a lot of theories, one of which most researched, is that the "Pineal Gland" or  'Third Eye' is responsible for the production of this chemical. Although never proven, research is still continued to locate the exact location.

Ayahuasca is made by boiling the 3 ingredients together for 8 hours and refining it down to thick, black bitter liquid that really taste like shit.

The Spiritual...

Now this is the exquisitely, mysterious, captivating, beautiful side of Ayahuasca which is why millions all over travel to the ends of the world just for ceremony... Why I fell in love with the plant.

To Believe this world as just the physical is very ignorant. Taking Ayahuasca will take you past the physical, past the mind and into the realm of spirit, which in my belief, is more real than this physical world we wake up to.

The spirit of Ayahuasca is very Feminine, she is our Mother, Mother Gaya, Mother Earth, Mother Mary. Whatever you call her she is the spirit behind the beauty of nature in this world. She draws strength from all the other spirits that are roaming and shows the light to whoever seeks.

There are many plant Allies and diets to Ayahuasca, all with connection to the spirit of Ayahuasca.

In all of us, we have a soul which is connected to all things. What Ayahuasca does is connect you with your soul. Who is always happy and does not live in the illusion of time and space.

It is a door then once we step through, forces us to change our perspective of all we have been lead to believe in life. One way or the other, she will change you for the better.

During Ceremony, the shaman (healer) drinks the Ayahuasca with us. When we are in trance, he sings his Icaros (songs of the spirit) to call for them to help us and heal and give us strength.

You are transported into the jungle matrix, the space where plants, animals and all beings live harmoniously. Where the laws of physics does not exist. Beings which are REAL but not made of matter.

It is an endlessly beautiful, mysterious and sometimes very SCARY world. The courage needed is very demanding but EXTREMELY rewarding. The ultimate battle, good vs. evil inside of yourself.

Crazy Shit I know, but you do not find God, through the rational mind.

Introduction

Welcome Brothers & Sisters

This is my new blog, dedicated to Life & Ayahuasca...

My name is Raphael Soon,

Who I was before does not matter to who I am. I was born in Singapore 21 years ago, I grew up in Melbourne Australia. I use to I denitrify myself as a son, a brother, a friend, a student, a fighter, a soldier. That has all changed with Ayahuasca

Now all I am and always was, is a servant of God.

My main purpose here is to serve, feed and heal people. I have recently found my path of awakening through shamanism. I have created this blog with the SOLE purpose to spread the message and miracle of Ayahuasca to those in search for the truth. I am not writing from any ego point. I am writing to share my experiences in the Jungles and in the cities, my truths, my failures, my biggest fears which i constantly face.

Life is such a wonderful game, all of it is PERFECT. Pain, suffering, Joy, Love, Fear. Its all the fucking same :)

I will be based in Peru, right in the heart of the Amazon at the start of 2014, working with the people at one of the biggest, most respected and authentic Ayahuasca retreats, called 'VIDA LIBRE'.

We are all working to heal the world step by step, a team of pure hearted truth seekers. Good people with big hearts and we have lots of fun.

We want the people to realize that it and always has been in us this whole time, to be happy. All we had to do was look inside.

So join me as I share with you every deep dark beautiful craves of this giant ocean of love, which is life. All my adventures in the jungles, The nights that never ended, and the nights i never wanted to end. My love stories, my journeys with travelers on the path and my relationship with 'Mother Ayahuasca.

I am not here to pretend to know anything, All i am is the voice piece God chooses to manifest through. Take nothing I say seriously, yet read it with an open heart.

In India, when people greet and farewell each other, they say 'Namaste'.

Which means " I honor the soul within you"

So to all of you.

Namaste,
